Fresh from his second trip to the United States in less than two months Taiwanese YouTube singing sensation Lin Yu Chun is working on producing his debut album which Sony Music plans to release in July 2010. Lin Yu Chun will sing songs in both Chinese and English and so far the list of songs he will sing has not been released. As usual, the Lin Yu Chun Fan Club will keep you informed as we hear anything new about our adorable young singing star.

We’ve been waiting for some new videos to get posted on Youtube showing Lin Yu Chun singing songs we haven’t heard yet. We found this amateur videographer’s recording live from the game. The first song he sings is “Taiwan Will Touch Your Heart.” The baseball fans settle down a bit for the next song, as they rose to listen to Lin Yu Chun sing the US National Anthem, “The Star Spangled Banner.”  Several times during the performance there was spontaneous cheering. At the end of the performance he received huge applause. 

The baseball game ensued and the Los Angeles Dodgers went on to beat the Detroit Tigers 6-4, continuing the May Miracle winning streak.  It was an exciting game, especially after a Detroit home-run in the 5th and a base-loaded threat in the seventh. It looked like Detroit might pull ahead,  but fitting to the occasion, Taiwan born Dodger pitcher Hong Chih-Kuo shut down Tiger Miguel Cabrerra who grounded out to end the seventh. After that Detroit had the Tiger’s by the tail. 

Lin Yu Chun returned to Los Angeles yesterday and is chilling in a hotel room getting ready to sing some tunes – including the U.S. National Anthem at Dodger Stadium this Saturday.

Very fitting to Lin Yu Chun’s appearance is the fact that this Saturday is Taiwan Day at Dodger Stadium.

In addition to seeing Lin Yu Chun perform, Taiwan fans could have two other chances to see a ‘Native Son’ in action. The Dodgers have reliever Kuo Hong-chih, and the Detroit Tigers has reliever Ni Fu-te.

Those who purchase seats in the special Taiwan Day section will receive a Dodgertown T-Shirt showing a map of Taiwan where the O in Town goes. They will also have special foods available in that section.

There’s also a Taiwan Day at Dodger Stadium Meetup being sponsored by Mandarin Friends that you can sign up for if you’re planning on attending the game.

Lin Yu Chun who signed a record deal with Sony on May 13th, is reportedly a bit nervous, but also excited and very honored to have a chance to sing in a stadium that can seat as many as 60,000 people.

According to an article today in TaiwanNews he is rehearsing 3 songs for the event including the U.S. national anthem and Taiwan Touch Your Heart.

It’s great to see Lin Yu Chun back in the US. No doubt they’ll sneak in a TV appearance or two while he’s here – and maybe even film a Hagen Daz commercial.

Lin Yu Chun and Sony Music Entertainment signed a major worldwide record deal this week in Shanghai. Lin Yu Chun and Sony plan to release his debut album during the summer of 2010. It is being reported that the debut album will be a compilation of songs sung in English and Chinese. The Lin Yu Chun Fan Club is extremely proud to be the first on the scene to report the Sony deal, and we hope to be the first to share the release date and other details about Lin Yu Chun’s upcoming debut album. Breaking News: According to industry insiders, Lin Yu Chun has signed with Sony for all his music rights.

We will provide more details as they become available.

When the judges rightfully voted Lin Yu Chun off the Super Star Avenue show after he put in a flat performance they probably got chewed out by the executives who care about little things like ratings. Within a week of his being ousted from this popular reality TV show, fashioned after shows like American Idol and Britians Got Talent, Lin Yu Chun was whisked off to the United States to appear on Ellen DeGeneres and Lopez Tonight.

You know you are somebody when Wikipedia makes a page on you.

Well – we fans already knew there was a super star in the making, even if he got voted off the show with that name.

In this emotional interview, Lin Yu Chun shares how he decided to ‘dream a dream’ again and persue his singing career – long ago abandoned, after seeing Susan Boyle’s performance and how the world accepted and loved her, despite her non-superstar appearance.

He talks about how difficult it was to go after his dream, however. How he had great resistence from his parents and how he felt his physique continually affected his ability to gain attention despite his talent. Even his original agency discouraged him from trying out for the popular TV show, Super Star Avenue. Lin Yu Chun finally fired his original talent agent after several years last October and shortly thereafter enrolled in Taiwan’s A-List Celebrity School. From there he auditioned for and made his way up the ranks on the Super Star Avenue TV show and on April 7th blew away the judges and the world with his performance of Whitney Houston’s “I will always love you.”

He never expected to become so famous.

As Lin Yu Chun did a little touring and shopping before catching a Friday flight out of LA, he was recognized by many fans and created quite a stir as he walked down the Hollywood Walk of Fame this morning.

The Ellen DeGeneres interview went great and the audience loved him. And who could have anticipated a duet with Captain Kirk of the Star Ship Enterprise?

Interviewed on the Ellen DeGeneres show on April 21, 2010 – Lin Yu Chun said he wanted to let everyone who’s ever been bullied to stay positive and remember, “There is a reason for everyone’s existence in this word.” He went on to say that the best revenge is to become more successful then those people who teased or bullied you.

Lin Yu Chun May Not Be Taiwan’s Idol – But The Rest of The World Still Awaits!

Lin Yu Chun, the Taiwanese man whose singing made him an overnight celebrity and Taiwan’s answer to Susan Boyle, has been voted off of the talent show that made him famous.

Well, maybe it’s for the best. Lin Yu Chun doesn’t need to win the Super Star Avenue show to launch his career. The requests for out of country appearances have been pouring in since late last week, and with over 6,000,000 You Tube views and climbing, Lin Yu Chun doesn’t need that title to know he’s a superstar.

Apparently, the judges didn’t like his attempt to sing a song in Mandarin. Or maybe, the hot blast off to instant mega fame took it’s toll.

We’re not worried, and we think this gives Lin Yu Chun more opportunities to launch his career ‘for real.’ No more UNreality TV competitions – is a good it means the record deal will happen sooner.

Is the winner of the Taiwan’s Reality TV Show Super Star Avenue Lin Yu Chun a one hit wonder, or is he destined to have great career as a singer? Will his instant and potentially highly lucrative fame, keep the skinny bitches on the music circuit from ever patting him on the head again and call him “little fatty?” Will everyone want so bad to get a piece of his celebrity that he finally get some respect?

Will this 24 year old who looks like he’s 17 drop his nerdy, boyish persona and start sporting tats and better hair styles?

Will handlers and personal trainers completely reinvent him?

Another words, will fame ruin Lin Yu Chun?

Who knows? We certainly don’t. But we don’t think Lin Yu Chun has that much in common with Susan Boyle. Sure – they both got discovered by auditioning on a Realty TV Show set up to ‘discover’ hidden talent. And sure they both blew away the judges, not only because they could sing, but also because – from the looks of them – the judges probably didn’t expect much.

And sure they both are on the chubby side. But after that – they don’t have that much in common – or at least we think they don’t. For one, Lin Yu Chun’s been actively performing and working on climbing in his career for over 8 years. He’s won some talent contests and was someone known in his community. Susan Boyle had a very low key existence, behind the scenes existence, and was truly undiscovered and basically unknown when she made it to the judges table.

They tried to make her into something she wasn’t pretty fast – and Susan Boyle wasn’t ready for that. We think that Lin Yu Chun has more practice dealing with fame making media whores and we think he’ll get through the fame tsunami unscathed.

Lin Yu Chun had artist management for six years and was discouraged from going on the Super Star Avenue show by his managers. They probably did the same stupid thing lots of people in the business do, and decided that because he didn’t fit the stereo typical example of how a young singer should look, he shouldn’t bother trying out.

Thank goodness, Lin Yu Chun fired that artist management company and got hooked up with one that encouraged him.

Stay tough Lin Yu Chun!
